About Sifferman Technology


Sifferman Technology was founded in 2007 by veteran electrical engineer Andy Sifferman. We design and develop hardware and software/firmware for innovative new products that incorporate embedded microcontrollers. Our specialty is the creation of cost-effective sonar equipment for recreational marine applications. We focus on maximizing the performance and user experience of our products while keeping cost low.

About Andy Sifferman

Andy is an electrical engineer with more than 30 years of experience developing hardware and software for embedded systems. Andy has a passion for excellence in the design of products that are useful, “cool”, and fun to use. More than 250,000 of the products Andy has designed have been sold worldwide. Much of his work has been in the recreational marine electronics industry, although his skills are applicable to many other industries where embedded microcontrollers are used.

Andy and his wife Susan live in New Hampshire. They have five sons.

  • In 2011, Andy Sifferman received 3M’s Circle of Technical Excellence and Innovation award for his contributions on a team developing a remarkable 46″ large format multi-touch projected capacitive touch screen.
  • In 1996, Andy was a leading member of a team of engineers who were awarded Raytheon’s prestigious Thomas L. Phillips Award for Excellence in Technology.
  • Several of the products Andy has worked on have received industry awards for design and innovation.
